TL;DR
This paper analyzes EUV emission lines observed with Hinode/EIS, providing a curated list of diagnostic lines and identifying key density diagnostics for solar studies.
Contribution
It offers a comprehensive list of recommended emission lines for EIS observations and identifies the most useful density diagnostics based on blending and atomic data.
Findings
Recommended emission lines for EIS studies
Identification of key density diagnostics
Analysis of line blending and diagnostic potential
Abstract
Quiet Sun and active region spectra from the Hinode/EIS instrument are presented, and the strongest lines from different temperature regions discussed. A list of emission lines recommended to be included in EIS observation studies is presented based on analysis of blending and diagnostic potential using the CHIANTI atomic database. In addition we identify the most useful density diagnostics from the ions covered by EIS.
