Dirac Equation Studies in the Tunnelling Energy Zone
Stefano De Leo, Pietro Rotelli

TL;DR
This paper explores tunnelling times in the Dirac equation within a specific energy zone, revealing superluminal transit times similar to the Hartman effect, which challenges conventional understanding of quantum tunnelling.
Contribution
It provides the first analysis of tunnelling times in the Dirac equation in the energy zone V0 < E < V0+m, highlighting superluminal effects.
Findings
Superluminal transit times observed in the Dirac tunnelling zone.
Identification of Hartman-like effect in relativistic quantum tunnelling.
Implications for causality and quantum mechanics interpretations.
Abstract
We investigate the tunnelling zone V0 < E < V0+m for a one-dimensional potential within the Dirac equation. We find the appearance of superluminal transit times akin to the Hartman effect.
