Black hole state counting in loop quantum gravity
P. Mitra

TL;DR
This paper explores how to count the microscopic states of black holes in loop quantum gravity, comparing methods that include all spin states versus only pure horizon states, and calculating states with fixed total spin.
Contribution
It introduces two distinct approaches for black hole state counting in loop quantum gravity and derives the number of states with a specified total spin.
Findings
Counting states with all spin configurations
Counting only pure horizon states
Number of states with fixed total spin
Abstract
Counting of microscopic states of black holes is discussed within the framework of loop quantum gravity. There are two different ways, one allowing for all spin states and the other involving only pure horizon states. The number of states with a definite value of the total spin is also found.
