TL;DR
This paper explores quantum non-demolition measurements of atomic ensemble alignment, comparing vectorial and tensorial interactions to achieve conditional squeezing and entanglement of atomic states.
Contribution
It introduces methods for conditional squeezing and entanglement of atomic alignment components using vectorial and tensorial Hamiltonians.
Findings
Conditional squeezing of atomic alignment achieved.
Comparison of vectorial and tensorial Hamiltonian effects.
Potential for entanglement generation in atomic ensembles.
Abstract
We investigate the possibility to perform a Quantum Non Demolition measurement of the collective alignment of an atomic ensemble in the case of a spin. We compare the case of purely vectorial and purely tensorial Hamiltonians and show how to achieve conditional squeezing or entanglement of atomic alignment components.
