New systematics in charmless strange $B^+ \to VP$ decays
Harry J. Lipkin

TL;DR
This paper analyzes charmless strange $B^+ o VP$ decays, confirming a simple penguin model with equal gluon fragmentation, discusses experimental ratios, and proposes a new symmetry approach with testable predictions.
Contribution
Introduces a new symmetry framework that clarifies the penguin approximation and offers novel predictions for charmless strange $B^+$ decays.
Findings
Experimental ratio $BR(B^+ o K^{*+} a)$ to $BR(B^+ o K^{*+} a')$ confirms parity rule.
Large violations found in a sum rule for branching ratios.
Indications of electroweak penguin contributions or intrinsic charm in $ a- a'$ system.
Abstract
Latest data on charmless strange vector-pseudoscalar decays now including confirm a simple penguin model in which the gluon in an initial state fragments equally into , and and all form factors are equal. A search for possible additional contributions shows only a few signals not obscured by experimental errors whose implications are discussed. The experimental value of for the ratio of the branching ratios to confirms the parity selection rule prediction 0.32. Large violations arise in a new sum rule for the sum of these branching ratios, analogous to the similar pseudoscalar sum rule including and . Indications for either an electroweak penguin contribution or additional admixtures like instrinsic charm in the …
