Correlations with Photons in Heavy-Ion Collisions
Zouina Belghobsi

TL;DR
This paper investigates how photons and neutral pions correlate in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions at the LHC to understand medium effects on jet decay properties.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of photon and neutral pion correlations to quantify medium effects in heavy-ion collisions.
Findings
Photon-jet correlations show significant medium modifications.
Neutral pion correlations help distinguish initial state effects.
Results suggest medium-induced energy loss impacts jet fragmentation.
Abstract
We present a study of two-particle correlation functions involving photons and neutral pions in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions at the LHC energy. The aim is to use these correlation functions to quantify the effects of the medium on the jet decay properties.
