$B_{s,d} \to \pi\pi,\pi K, KK$: Status and Prospects
Robert Fleischer (CERN)

TL;DR
This paper reviews the status and future prospects of using $B_{s,d}$ meson decays to $ ext{pi} ext{pi}$, $ ext{pi} ext{K}$, and $ ext{KK}$ modes for extracting the CKM angle gamma, analyzing current data, theoretical assumptions, and potential measurements at LHCb.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of $B_{s,d}$ decay strategies for gamma extraction, including recent experimental results, U-spin-breaking effects, and future measurements at LHCb.
Findings
Current data favor BaBar's direct CP violation measurement in $B_d o ext{pi}^+ ext{pi}^-$.
Estimated gamma value is approximately 67 degrees with uncertainties.
Predictions for unmeasured observables at LHCb, including $ ext{Delta} ext{Gamma}_s$ and CP violation in $B_s o K^+K^-$.
Abstract
Several years ago, it was pointed out that the U-spin-related decays , and , offer interesting strategies for the extraction of the angle gamma of the unitarity triangle. Using the first results from the Tevatron on the decays and the B-factory data on modes, we compare the determinations of gamma from both strategies, study the sensitivity on U-spin-breaking effects, discuss the resolution of discrete ambiguities, predict observables that were not yet measured but will be accessible at LHCb, explore the extraction of the width difference from untagged rates, and address the impact of new physics. The data for the , system favour the BaBar measurement of direct CP violation in , which will be used in the…
