SN Shock Evolution in the Circumstellar Medium surrounding SN 1987A
Vikram V. Dwarkadas

TL;DR
This paper investigates the structure and evolution of the supernova shock in the circumstellar medium of SN 1987A over 25 years, focusing on the resulting X-ray and radio emissions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of the circumstellar environment and shock evolution specific to SN 1987A, enhancing understanding of supernova remnant development.
Findings
Characterized the circumstellar medium structure around SN 1987A.
Tracked the supernova shock evolution over 25 years.
Predicted X-ray and radio emission patterns from the remnant.
Abstract
We study the structure of the circumstellar medium surrounding SN 1987A in the equatorial plane. Furthermore, we study the evolution of the SN shock within this medium during the first 25 years, and the resulting hard X-ray and radio emission from the remnant.
