## TL;DR

This paper investigates how including hard core repulsion in baryon interactions affects neutron star properties, demonstrating that hyperons can exist without preventing neutron stars from reaching masses around two solar masses.

## Contribution

It introduces the impact of short-range baryon-baryon repulsion on neutron star mass limits with hyperons present, a novel aspect in neutron star modeling.

## Key findings

- Neutron stars can reach ~2 solar masses with hyperons.
- Hard core repulsion allows hyperons without reducing maximum mass.
- Hyperons do not necessarily conflict with observed neutron star masses.

## Abstract

We consider the effect of hard core repulsion in the baryon-baryon interaction at short distance to the properties of a neutron star. We obtain that, even with hyperons in the interior of a neutron star, the neutron star mass can be as large as $\sim 2 M_\odot$.
