B.F.L. Ward, S.A. Yost

TL;DR
This paper develops a combined QED and QCD resummation framework and discusses its integration with shower and matrix element matching techniques, applied to precision calculations for heavy gauge boson production at the LHC.
Contribution
It introduces a novel theoretical approach for simultaneous QED and QCD resummation and its application to improve LHC physics predictions.
Findings
Enhanced accuracy in heavy gauge boson production modeling.
Demonstrated the interplay between resummation and shower/ME matching techniques.
Provided a foundation for more precise LHC phenomenology analyses.
Abstract
We present the theory of QED x QCD resummation and its interplay with shower/matrix element matching in precision LHC physics scenarios. We illustrate the theory using single heavy gauge boson production at hadron colliders.
